eFoil Locations

There are a few key Oahu eFoil locations, where you can find the best conditions for eFoiling, and eFoil Surfing, we look at some of them!

Ke'ehi Lagoon

The best location for learning and intermediate eFoiling on the island! Also advanced riding if you want to go outside the lagoon and try your hand in waves. Water is always smooth and buttery, and clean blue and clear, the nicest most consistent conditions on island! Potential for eFoil wave surfing!

North Shore/Haleiwa

Nice location, and a bit more country.  Haleiwa bay typically has offshore winds and no waves in the summer, so is a great place for learning and intermediate riding, with some interesting locations to visit, and potentially some small waves depending on the time of year. In Winter, the waves get large, and conditions become more hit or miss. If conditions allow open ocean rides to Laniakea beach or even Waimea Bay are possible for skilled adventurous riders. Potential for eFoil wave surfing.

Waimanalo

Again, great when there is no wind,  but the trades are the constant on Oahu, sometimes its less windy at dawn and dusk. There are no inland waterways here so you’ll need to learn how to deal with waves and chop while learning, which makes it harder, and less enjoyable if you’re an experienced rider.

Kailua

When there is no wind Kailua is great for eFoiling, unfortunately the trades blow most days of the year so if you want flat water for learning you need to head for the inland canals, where the water is brown and murky, not the nicest place for swimming.

Kaneohe Bay

Dream spot if you head out to the “Sand Bar” area with its nice offshore winds, and butter smooth clear blue water. A highlight of any trip. To get to this location you need to be able to efoil continiously for a mile or so,  and avoid the spots of shalow reef on the way out.

Hawaii Kai

There is some nice in;and waterways, and a large bay open to the ocean so there is pleanty of scope for exploring. You can even eFoil upto the Kona brewery and get a beer! The ocean facing bay get waves during the summertime, and you can eFoil out to China walls if you’re a skilled adventourous rider.
